Epic Tales: Improvised Adventures, Part 1
For People Grades 5-6
This workshop introduces young adventurers to the world of improvisation. Playfully and with lots of imagination, participants learn how to create their own stories in the moment. Using short texts and creative exercises, they develop their expressive abilities and explore the foundations of theatrical play. A variety of materials and media are used to make the creative process dynamic and engaging. The focus is on teamwork, mutual support, and building confidence in their own creativity, talents, and experiences. No showcase is planned as part of this workshop.
Improv Legends: Create Your Own Story, Part 1
For People Grades 7-8
This workshop invites youth to invent and bring their own stories to life. Through playful exploration, they discover the many facets of improvisation and learn how to bring their experiences and ideas into creative expression. Various materials and media are used to inspire and enhance the process. The workshop emphasizes discovering one’s unique talents, developing self-expression, and collaborating within a supportive group. No showcase is planned as part of this workshop
Youth Playback Theater: Next Level Stories, Part 1
For People Grades 9-12
This workshop focuses on telling personal stories and experiences and transforming them into creative performances through playback theater. Participants learn to harness their expressive power while working collaboratively with the group. A range of materials and media is utilized to inspire diverse approaches to storytelling. The emphasis is on highlighting each participant's unique talents and experiences, fostering self-discovery, and creating meaningful connections within the group. No showcase is planned as part of this workshop.
Hero’s Journey: Create and Play
For People 19+
This workshop invites adults to embark on a creative journey, exploring the stages of a classic hero’s journey through improvisation and self-expression. Participants work with existing texts as well as their own stories and experiences, using a variety of materials and media to inspire the creative process. The focus is on discovering and exploring one’s unique talents, personal forms of expression, and unlocking the many facets of creativity and potential in a supportive and engaging environment. No showcase is planned as part of this workshop.
